Pembrokeshire - August 2010

We drove to Porthgain, caught the bus to Strumble Head and walked back to Porthgain along the coast path. In the rain. 22.6 km (14.1 miles) with 1200 metres (3940 feet) of ascent. On the plus side the weather meant that we had the path to ourselves.

The next day we walked from St Davids to Solva for lunch - 11.4 km (7.1 miles) with 340 metres (1130 feet) of ascent.

Sharp Edge & Castle Crag - July 2009

A few photos from our last expedition to the Lake District. Rob had a broken toe, I had a broken car.

On Friday we walked from our camp site at St John's in the Vale into Keswick down the old railway line, had a pint or two and fish and chips and then walked back. On Saturday those of us without broken toes climbed Blencathra via Sharp Edge. On Sunday we drove into Borrowdale and climbed Castle Crag.

St Davids - December 2010

Bryan, Andy and I made a short trip to the caravan at Whitesands in December.

On Friday we walked to Whitesands Bay, which we found had quite a bit of ice on it. That took Abby by surprise when she tried to turn going full-pelt after a ball.

On Saturday we drove to Newgale and walked back to Solva and on Sunday walked around the Marloes peninsula.

Bantham - February 2011

Well, it was February, it was cold, it was raining, so we thought we'd go to the seaside. We met up at the Sloop in Bantham and had a quick circular walk around the cliffs. On Saturday we walked to Hope Cove and back via Thurleston. A few photos:
